night creature (part 3)

Today is Saturday. Well, as usual many people will come today, especially students. Sometimes it really irritated me when some of them don’t know how to take care of the books that they have borrowed. These kids are really irresponsible. Some times I wonder how they parent teach them to take care of thing. This people can come as early as 11am. Everything is under control. The clock shows 1.00pm when Anne come and ask me whether I would like to join her for lunch.
‘Hey gene, would you like to join me and Robert for lunch?’
I look at my watch,
‘Hm… I don’t think that I am hungry at the moment. Why don’t you guys just go ahead? May be if my tummy started to sing a song, I’ll send you a message to buy me something to eat. Okay?’
Anne laugh
‘Alright then. Just message me later if you need anything.’
I just smile at her as she walks away.
Then leave me alone again at my desk doing my work.
After 20 minutes later, my tummy started to grumble.
‘Man… I am so hungry. I need food!!!’
I am talking to my self. Then I remember Anne. I take my mobile phone and started to write a message to her.
‘There… and after this just wait for her to bring me my burger.’
I am mumbling to my self when suddenly my book falls down on the floor.
‘Oh man!! What is this?’
I bent down to pick up the book. And when I stand up, I was shock to see there’s a man standing in front of my desk.
‘Shit!! You scared the hell of me!!’
I look at him with my big eyes.
He just stands there and looks at me with no impression.
‘Hey, I know you. Your name is Angus right? The guy that ask about Anne rice’s book the other day.’
He smiles at me when he heard that I still remember his name.
‘So what do you want this time?’
‘Hm…did the person return the book already?’
I take a beep breath,
‘Well, I am sorry to inform you that the person hasn’t returned the book yet.’
His face impression look really disappointed. Part of me feels so sad to see that face. But hey, I’m still in the mid of reading the book. I don’t care.
‘Okay then. So in that case, I have to wait again.’
I smile at him,
‘Don’t worry. I’ll call you once the person returns the book. I promise.’
He put his hands in his pocket and smiles at me
‘Alright then. And you still have my number right?’
‘Huh? Oh!! Yes!! Yes!! I still have it. It’s here, in my book.’
I pointed at my journal.
‘Okay then. I’ll wait for your call.’
And he just walks away.
‘That is so close!’
I talk to my self. After that I just continue to do my work. After half and hour later, Anne come with my burger..
‘There, burger that you want. Double cheese with extra chili sauce.’
She put it in front of me.
‘Alright then. Thanks a lot. I owe u girl.’
I take the burger and put it aside. So I continue my work for a while. After a while, I feel like want to eat at the park. So I grab my burger and my bag.
‘Anne, I feel like want to take fresh air. So I’ll be at the park. If you need anything just call me, okay?’
Without looking at me, Anne answer me,
‘Okay. Just don’t forget your time girl.’ Then she laughs.
I just smile at her. It just takes 10 minutes for me to arrive at the park. I wonder what Oli do right now. I decided to give her a call and we talk for a few minutes because she still has a lot of work to do. So I continue to eat my lunch. Suddenly I think about the thing that happens this morning. It still puzzles me. While I am still puzzles my self, suddenly
‘Hi!’
When I look on my left side, there was Angus. He was sitting beside me without me knowing it. I look at him.
‘When did you come? I didn’t realize that you are there?’
He just smiles at me. Gosh, surely he likes to smile....
I talked to my self in my mind.
‘Well, every body thought that I like to smile. It’s just not only you who thinks like that’
Whoa!!! Surely he is a mind reader.
I just continue to eat my burger until it finish. And I don’t dare to think of anything else. I just make my self relax and don’t think of anything. Just let my mind blank. Thank god I practice yoga.
‘I thought that you only have one copy of that Anne Rice book. And how come you have another copy of it?’
Suddenly I stop chewing and look down at my bag. The book was on the top of it.
Gosh!!! I forgot to put it back inside my bag. Whoa!! Plus there is a library cop on the top of it. MY GOODNESS!!!! I am speechless... Don’t know what to say.
‘I…..’
He took the book and look at me,
‘If you still not finish reading this, why don’t you just tell me that you still read it? You don’t have to lied to me girl.’
Gosh!! I am thoughtless. Seriously.
‘Okay, I am sorry if I lie to you.’
He looks at me and laugh,
‘Well, tell me when will you finish reading the book?’
‘Huh? To tell you the truth, I also don’t know when I will finish reading it’
I just put the book inside my bag and started to leave the place. Suddenly he pulls my hand to stop me to make a move.
I look at him and
‘Well sir, if you don’t let go of my hand, I will scream.’
So he just let go of my hand and quickly I leave the place.
Gosh!! What is he thinking? His action really makes me pissed off. Is he crazy or what?
When I am arrive at the library there not so many people. Good, I can continue my work. I try to find Anne, but she’s not at her desk. I wonder where she’s gone. So I just put my stuff and continue my work. After half and hour, Anne come with her big smile. I look at her with my question face.
‘What’s wrong with you? What with the big smile?’
‘Nothing…’
But the smile is still there on her face. She took the book that is on the top of my table and flips the pages.
‘I know there must be something that you hide from me girl. Just tell me what is it?’
She seems like can’t keep the secret. She put the book down and
‘Gosh, I can’t believe that this is happening to me!!’
‘What?’
‘Robert wants me to be his wife. Oh my goodness!!! I really can’t believe it. He proposes to me just now. And….’
She shows me her wedding ring. Whoa! That’s surely really big ring. I stand up and hug her.
‘That’s good for you dear. I am sure this is what you’ve been waiting for these 4 years in relationship. Now he’s your forever. Congratulation to the both of you.’
She looks at me with her teary eyes.
We talked for a while after that we continue our own work.
‘Hey gene, don’t you want to go home? It’s late already.’
It’s Anne.
When I look at my watch, it shows almost 6.00pm. It’s late already. So I pack my things and ready to make a move. So I meet her at the entrance.
‘Well, see you tomorrow girl. Enjoy your evening.’
She smile and hug me.
‘You too, dear.’
So I just make a move. I walk slowly. Surely this evening is really cold. I still keep thinking what had happen between me and Angus. He really scares me. I just couldn’t believe his action towards me. I arrived at my apartment within 15 minutes later. There it was. The flower that still bothers me, lying on the top of my dressing table. I took it and put it near to my nose. The sweet smell is still there. I wonder who put it there. Really puzzle me. I just leave it there, so I just take my shower. After taking my shower, I make my self a simple dinner. After finish taking my dinner, I decided to continue to read the book. The clock shows 11.00 pm. No wonder I feel so sleepy. So I jump in my bed, so cozy. Automatically, I just fall asleep. Suddenly I can feel someone playing with my hair. I try to open up my eyes, but cannot. Even how hard I try to open it. I can hear that person breathing. It’s so near to my ear. Slowly I can feel that he touch my neck. Once again I try to open up my eyes but still can’t. My god, please help me. I keep praying in my heart. I don’t how did I fall asleep after that.
